WHAT TO EXPECT
You know your child best! We listen to how you describe your child, watch how they interact with you, and engage them in play-based activities to take a look at the areas of development below.
PLAY
The ability to play age appropriately alone and with peers (exploring, playing purposefully, pretending, playing cooperatively)
SOCIAL COMMUNICATION
The reasons and manner in which one communicates with adults and peers (e.g. sending messages to a partner and responding to messages, asking and answering questions, greeting etc.)
LANGUAGE
The ability to understand what is said and express yourself with gestures, words, sentences, etc.
SPEECH SOUNDS
The ability to produce speech sounds so that they can be understood
EARLY LITERACY
The skills one has related to sounds and print before they are able to read
FLUENCY
The ability to speak smoothly without sounds being repeated, drawn out or blocked (stuttering)
